A school bus driving in the Butler Area School District was recently involved in an early morning accident on Tuesday. While most accidents are attributed to inclement weather or a distracted driver, this incident was caused by a deer. That’s right. According to Butler Radio, the bus was traveling on Herman Road near Bonniebrook Road when it hit a deer. The students were on their way to school when the incident occurred. Firefighters were called to the scene and when they arrived, the bus was already pulled off to the side of the road. The driver claimed she hit, or possibly even bumped the deer.
Luckily, emergency medical personnel checked everyone out and no injuries were reported. The bus continued on its trip to school and the deer was able to get up and run away from the scene which indicates it may not have sustained any injuries either.
