Five Injured in Two Separate Transit Bus Crashes in San Francisco

Two AC Transit Bus Crash, Five Injured
Five people were injured on September 27, 2017, when two AC transit buses crashed near Folsom and Freemont Streets.
AC Transit spokesperson told CBS San Francisco that two buses were making a right turn on Folsom Street when one AC transit bus rear-ended another AC transit bus around 9:30 a.m.
The driver of the bus that was hit lost control and careened down Freemont Ave., striking several passenger cars, one of which was occupied. After hitting the parked vehicles, the bus ran up the sidewalk and slamming into a building.
The drivers of both buses, a passenger on one of the buses, an occupant of one of the cars were sent to nearby hospitals for treatment.
No pedestrians on the sidewalk were injured.
An AC Transit spokesperson said bus accidents like this one are rare. They also noted that neither of the two drivers has a terrible driving record.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
